NIGHT presents... the beda's 2008 - about the awards
UPFRONT, news, May 2008, COMMENTS
It has been a tough year for the late night trade sector as the full effects of the smoking ban, licensing laws and ‘credit crunch’ have been felt. But the challenges presented by increased competition and financial pressures have stirred a newfound sense of commercial awareness and drive within the industry. There is all the more reason to celebrate our achievements and hard work, and what better way to do so than with the industry’s most prestigious awards ceremony and one hell of a party?
NIGHT Magazine is for the first time the sole organiser of the late night economy’s most prestigious yearly awards event, which attracts around 1,000 industry professionals each year. Its extended role on the ceremony follows the announcement that the Bar Entertainment and Dance Association (BEDA) has been re-branded as Noctis and will move away from the event to focus more closely on representing the voice of its industry members and lobbying the government.
The first NIGHT presents...the beda’s will see a revised format to the awards, with a host of new and refined titles that reflect the current shape of the late night entertainment industry. The Award categories and application process are detailed opposite.
As ever, demand for tickets for the 2008 beda’s will be high. The Metropole has one of the largest functions rooms in the UK, but still cannot accommodate the amount of people who wish to attend. Tickets are now on sale at a cost of £140, or £1,350 for a table of ten (both plus VAT).
