Monkey Business?
UPFRONT, news, night online, COMMENTS
Sheffield pub and bar owners will be given a run for their money this autumn as Arctic Monkey's drummer and former bassist go into business. The pair are aiming to get a licence to run a DJ-driven pub in their home town.
Matt Helder and the band's original bassist Andy Nicholson have bought The Bowery in their hometown of Sheffield, which will open next month. The building will also provide a head quarters for Helders' fashion range, Supreme Being.
A source told the Mirror: "Matt and Andy have had their eye on setting up a pub for ages. When the property came on the market they had to have it. It's perfect, Matt puts in most of the money and Andy can DJ there and manage it when Matt is off touring. All the lads can relax there and bring their mates".
Matt and Andy will officially open the pub on September 20, with the Arctic Monkeys rumoured to be playing at the event.
