Fabric’s sister venue will be a 2,600 capacity super venue, intended to be one of the best nightclubs for its size in the world, according to operators Cameron Leslie and Keith Reilly. The 02-based venue will open 18 September amid a massive launch campaign and party.
The venue is designed by William Russell of design and architect firm Pentagram, and will feature a live venue, club, a performing arts space and VIP club, with its own separate entrance facing the Thames. The main space is a 2,000-capacity auditorium with unique audio and visual features, balconies and bars. The venue will feature an updated version of Fabric’s celebrated 'bodysonic' floor, which causes the dance floor to vibrate with the music. Matter’s creators say that the new floor will be a ‘body kinetic’ floor, which will be integrated with 3D mapped visuals and a kaleidoscopic array of AV screens.
Speaking to Time-Out London, Cameron Leslie said that the operational team are looking forward to operating outside of London’s traditional clubland.
“I wouldn’t say that we have to educate people about this site, because by the time we open there will probably be 4.5 million people that will have gone to the Arena who know that it’s in Zone 2, it’s on the best tube line and it’s a lot easier to get to than Wembley.”
