3D ENTERTAINMENT GROUP FORMED
UPFRONT, NEWS, FEBRUARY 2007, COMMENTS
Luminar Leisure’s sale of 98 businesses was approved by shareholders in January, giving the green light for a new company - called 3D Entertainment Group Limited, and not NewCO as reported last issue - to be founded and being trading. The 3D (Drink, Dine & Dance) Entertainment Group consists of Chicago Rock Café, Jumpin Jaks and Orange House brands, together with a selection of unbranded late night bars and clubs, which, combined, constitutes a turnover in excess of £100 million.
Chief executive of 3D Entertainment Group, David Crabtree will oversee an £18 million investment into the estate, beginning with the refurbishment of six Chicago Rock Cafes, a new direction for Jumpin Jaks and Orange House and a small number of disposals and acquisitions to strengthen the company portfolio. Said Crabtree: “Investment into the way the venues look and feel and the overall customer experience is pivotal to the direction of the company and its success.”
