Clubber spends £100k in one night

If there is an official record for the most expensive round ever purchased, it has probably now been broken.

Forget the tales of New York Sidecars garnished with diamond rings, or the Merchant Hotel's famous £750 mai tai.  A London businessman has spent close to £100,000 at a top London nightclub this weekend.

The big spender’s night included dinner for friends at £1.5k per head, followed by a Nebuchadnezzar of Armand de Brignac Ace of Spade champagne, signed by hip hop star Jay Z costing and priced at £40,000.

The profligate party-goers then caughed-up for ten more magnums of the vintage champagne (at £12,000 each), while the final bill included Zenaca Rum, magnums of Ulitmate vodka, Don Julia Blanco Tequila, and endless shots for fellow clubbers.

With service and a £3,000 cash tip the total spend came to around £95,000.

A source at the club, where stars such as P Diddy, Keira Knightley, Beyonce and Kate Moss have held parties, said: "There were about 15 guests on the night and they drank champagne as well and had a wonderful evening.

"They arrived at about 10.45pm and stayed right to the end. I've never seen so many champagne bottles being brought through and certainly have never seen such a big bottle of champagne. It took three waiters to carry it."

What’s been the most expensive round bought at your venue?
