Sub Live Ltd have announced the launch of their first live music venue, SUB29. The 800-capacity venue will open in the Millennium Plaza complex on Wood Street, Cardiff with close links to rail and bus networks. With state of the art production facilities and a team with over 15 years of experience in music promotion and venue management, SUB29 aims to become a leading venue in South Wales, providing the best possible experience to audience, artists, staff and crew.
SUB29's Steve Bines, says:
“There is a fantastic live music audience in and around Cardiff but only a handful of venues. Since the demise of The Coal Exchange, Cardiff has not had a venue of this size at all.
“Our aim is to finally offer a venue suitable for the tours that continually leave Cardiff off of their schedules and, by working closely with both local and national promoters, we are confident that we can put Cardiff firmly on the map.”
The location of SUB29 will also allow greater numbers to experience live music in Cardiff. The venue is situated opposite Cardiff's central bus and train stations and with the venue guaranteeing that shows will finish in time for last trains and buses, SUB29 aims to attract a greater audience from outside of the city.
The venue is also committed to supporting the local music community.
Steve Bines: “We are fully aware of how exciting and vibrant the local music scene is and will ensure that it is well represented in the venue with showcase nights for local labels, unsigned artists and suport slots on bigger tours where possible.”
