Martin Professional A/S Optimises European Sales Structure
UPFRONT, news, night online, COMMENTS
In order to create a stronger, more effective European sales structure, Martin Professional A/S is optimising its European sales subsidiaries by creating a regional sales organisation, Martin EMEA.
Martin EMEA (Europe, Middle East and Africa) will be based at Martin’s headquarter office in Aarhus, Denmark. During 2009, Martin’s current European subsidiaries will be integrated into the new structure while Martin’s distributors within the area will be served by the new European regional organisation at a later stage.
Heading the new European sales organisation is Villads Thomsen, Vice President EMEA. Thomsen, previously managing director at Martin Professional’s Scandinavian subsidiary, assumed the new position on 1 January.
"The idea with our new EMEA sales structure is to create a stronger and more uniform approach to the market,” stated Thomsen. “In this time of increased globalisation, the regionalisation will support our key customers in the region in the most effective way. At the same time, as our customers grow and cross borders, we must be able to serve and support them irrespective of borders."
General management responsibilities in the UK will continue to be handled by Tony Browne. Browne, who has served as managing director of Martin UK since 2007, commented: “These are challenging times that are creating many new opportunities. The re-organisation of the European subsidiaries is a very positive move, which will enable us to become even more customer focused, respond quicker and remain very much in front of our competitors.”
