NEW LICENSING MINISTER ANNOUNCED

 

MP Gerry Sutcliffe has been confirmed as the new licensing minister, replacing Shaun Woodward.

 

Sutcliffe, Labour MP for Bradford South, will be responsible for licensing, sport, gambling and the national lottery, as the Parliamentary Under Secretary of State and will report to James Purnell.

 

Prior to the Department for Culture, Media and Sport, Sutcliffe was Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State for Criminal Justice & Offender Management at the Ministry of Justice.

 

From 2003 until 2006, he was Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State for Employment Relations and Consumer Affairs, in the then Department of Trade & Industry (DTI).
