new system from noise control audio

Noise Control Audio are fast gaining a reputation for their ranges of hand built touring, hire and install systems. The new compact ASYM System utilises Noise Control Audio’s Full Frequency power modules (FF2.5 and FF4.5), this integrated amplifier and DSP technology developed by XTA to produces a range that is fast to set up and versatile enough to be used in a variety of applications from dry hire to complex multi zone venue, club and touring situations.

The package consist of the new ASYM3P and VSB215P powered cabinets, the amplifier module of the VSB215P has a slave output to connect a further unpowered version of the same sub unit for situations where extra bass extension is required.

Designed for audio quality and high SPL, the ASYM3P is a 3-way front loaded full range cabinet with 90 degree dispersion, inside is a 15” 1200W 4 ohm neodymium bass driver and a 300W dual concentric 8” + 1” mid high cluster. The amplifier/DSP module mounted on the rear boasts 2 x 1250 watt channels at 4 ohms (feeding into 16ohms for the mid/hi cluster). The DSP gives precise gain/limiter control as well as x-over position, type, and 6 bands of parametric EQ on each channel as well as full networking capabilities. The box, as the name suggests, is built with an asymmetrical structure in both the bass and mid high cavities reducing resonant peaks caused by standing waves. It is constructed of void free birch ply to touring standards and painted in a highly durable weather proof coating. Whilst very little of the EQ is used for 127dB of flat 40Hz-20KHz response, the factory presets come with simple Full Range, Bass Boost and Bass Cut settings. These are intended for 3 standard configurations, being Stand Alone, Stand Alone (free-air) and in conjunction with the VSB215P sub bass cabinet(s). However the availability of the EQ allows for specific tuning to environments and special situations which can be saved as user presets.

The Sub Bass cabinet, VSB215P, utilises the same DSP technology but with a 2x2250Watt into 4 ohm amplifier section. For one box containing 2 x 15” 8 ohm, 1200watt neodymium drivers an SPL of 130dB can be achieved across its 35Hz – 225Hz range and that is with the amplifier running both channels at half load. To use the amplifier to its real potential a slave speakon output is supplied so a further VSB215 (unpowered) can be added to the system for some very serious levels of bass in club/ dance situations. The VSB215 cabinets are a “V” or “manifold” design making them precise in response and very strong. They are constructed by hand at NCA’s workshop in France to the same high, touring specification (routed glued and screwed throughout) as the ASYM3P and indeed all of Noise Control Audio’s speakers.

The ASYM3P has flying points for a variety of installation requirements or can be used with a tripod and yoke. There is an optional wheeled touring case that has room for the speaker, yoke/pole and cabling.

The VSB215 is intended as floor standing it has a “top hat” for pole mounting and wheels as standard.
Both cabinets have a powder coated steel facia to protect the drivers.
