New C 88:4 extends Lab.gruppen’s range of installation amplifiers
Products, sound, COMMENTS
Lab.gruppen has introduced a new flagship model for its C Series of network-controlled installation amplifiers, the C 88:4. Housed in a lightweight (12 kg) 2U chassis, the four-channel C 88:4 supplys 8800 watts of total output. Up to 2200 watts per discrete channel are available at 2 ohms, 2100 watts per channel at 4 ohms, while 4600 watts are available through two bridged output pairs at 4 ohms. The C 88:4 is designed for powering sub-woofers, larger array systems and broader multi-power-level/impedance applications.
Using Lab.gruppen’s proprietary Voltage Peak Limiting (VPL™), the C 88:4 can be configured for operation with four-channels, three-channels (one bridged pair) or two-channels (both pairs bridged). Each output can be individually tailored for either low-impedance or high-impedance (70/100 V) systems, allowing total flexibility across the full range of installation applications.
The C 88:4 retains all other features of the C Series, including the patented Class TD® amplifier topology, Regulated Switch Mode Power Supply™ (R.SMPS), Phoenix-type input connectors, screw terminal output connectors, the extraordinarily efficient Intercooler® heat dissipation, and a proprietary Voltage Peak Limiter for optimizing each output channel for the connected load.
The C 88:4 includes the NomadLink® network module as standard. NomadLink is a network that monitors all key amplifier parameters and permits remote control of power on/off and channel mutes. NomadLink utilizes the separate NLB 60E network bridge and the DeviceControl software application.
Lab.gruppen’s C Series now encompasses nine amplifiers with five four-channel models in the higher-power range: C 88:4, C 68:4, C 48:4, C 28:4 and C 16:4. The C…X Series low-power range, with a slightly different feature set, includes two eight-channel models (C 20:8X, C 10:8X) and two four-channel models (C 10:4X and C 5:4X).
