Since buying the ‘Vodka Nationwide’ Mini Cooper ten years ago to use as a promotion runaround for their highly successful student clubnight, Taking Liberties seem to have caught the promotional vehicle bug.
In 2003, the Taking Liberties Monster Truck squeezed through the gates of the Leeds-based promotions company. Standing over 10ft tall and almost 7ft wide, the first metallic blue beast boasts a roaring 350bhp V8 engine, switchable 2WD/4WD, huge oversized tractor tyres, a 10” suspension lift, a 3” body lift, an LCD monitor reversing camera which doubles as a Playstation 3 screen and an open flatbed at the rear big enough to accomodate decks, speakers and a DJ. In addition, the booming 500W MP3/ CD sound system inside the cabin is just about enough to drown out the noise of the twin chrome exhausts which flank both sides of the road legal behemoth. As if one wasn’t enough, Taking Liberties MD Jim Albentosa has just added a second truck to the armoury, this time in pearlescent white, loaded with strobes and LEDs specifically for night time promotions.
“We’ve provided numerous promotion campaigns for clients from Virgin to Paramount Pictures to nightclub and festival launches and it’s now in such high demand, we just had to get another. The new truck is even bigger and better than the original, and summer bookings are coming in fast!” In addition to their infamous clubnights, Taking Liberties can design, brand and wrap either vehicle in just a day and provide accompanying promotion staff to suit any campaign.
