Green Hippo’s James Ross Heron has been talking to NIGHT about the prototype of their as yet unreleased Hysteria product, a club-dedicated visuals tool.
“18 months ago we decided to combine all that we’ve learnt from working in the club market and the events industry with Hippotizer and put it into a new product, Hysteria. We’ve always believed that video graphics and information work against each other in most currently available systems where entertainment and information have to co-exist.
“Hysteria, at its front end, provides an operator with a sophisticated visual mixer with effects, beat detection, and the ability to create endless personalised compositions. Yet when an operator isn’t present Hysteria will continue to create imagery tied in with a fully integrated scheduling system. This time management application, known as RoboVJ, can be run locally or remotely and can cope with single or multiple machines simultaneously. The realtime elements remain intact so regional variations in taste and clientele can be maintained whilst information can be standardised is required. RoboVJ can play fixed content, or through an innovative tagging system, play randomised media allocated to moods or themes.
“And we are also currently putting the final touches to a revolutionary content transfer and trading system which will allow users to become part of a huge worldwide community where you can share, sell and discuss effects, content, branding and anything related to visuals.
“Similarly, owners can sell resources on their systems if they wish to generate revenue from Hysteria units throughout the estate.
“Watch this space. We’ll be announcing the full package in the near future and we think it will revolutionise the way venue owners approach display technology in any venue.”
