In March Edirol released the V-8, a compact video mixer expanding on the international success of the industry standard V-4. The Edirol V-8 has been developed to offer a total of eight video inputs, including a switchable RGB input with built in scan converter. When using the RGB input the V-8 is effectively a three buss design, with 2-channel TBC/frame sync and for the first time on such an affordable Edirol mixer the V-8 offers additive video mixing.

The V-8 also features improved ergonomics and additional physical controls to maintain its ease of use whilst still maintaining a robust and highly portable design. The V-8 incorporates a number of new real-time video effects updating the original effect pallet of the V-4. The V-8 also features V-LINK, which enables real-time performance control and interfacing with other MIDI equipment for the ultimate in creative expression.
