southern comfort returns to big chill
liquid assets, drinks news, SEPTEMBER 2006, COMMENTS
Due to its popularity at the 2005 Big Chill Festival, where it was voted ‘best tent’ by festival-goers, the 2006 Southern Comfort Fat Tuesday tent added an outdoor stage to this year’s format for the tent’s fantastic line-up including the Unabombers and Electric Soul Soundsystem, Seasick Steve, Coldcut, Mr.Lip and the Crazy P Sound System.
Tucked away by the lake, the 2006 tent continued to draw inspiration from the brand’s origin city, New Orleans. Decked out with palm trees, old posters and albums from the city, antique standing lamps, beaten up sofas, giant decadent mirrors along with chandeliers hanging from the plush roof all added to the eclectic party vibe.
To keep hungry revelers happy, a creole food stall next door to the tent served up southern-style food alongside the usual Southern Comfort cocktails such as the Mississippi Summer Punch, the SoCo Smash and the SoCo Mule.
Neil Aitken, Marketing Manager for Southern Comfort, said: “The Southern Comfort Fat Tuesday tent always receives rave reviews from Big Chillers and this year was no exception, we had a fantastic response from those at the tent.
“In addition to being incredibly popular, the Southern Comfort Fat Tuesday tent at Big Chill provides us with a fantastic way to sample our great tasting cocktails to our target audience while offering great music by some really eclectic artists
