Cerveja Sagres, Portugal’s leading premium lager import, is bringing a taste of Portugal to Edinburgh this Summer through its sponsorship of the World Festival.
The World Festival, which is the new venue for international music and dance, takes place from August 1-31 at St George’s West Church and will showcase performances from headline acts such as Capoeira Knights: Warriors of Brasil, Sister Salsa and Hemingway’s Havana, featuring Papi Oviedo from the Buena Vista Social Club.
The Sagres-sponsored World Festival Bus will also be taking the premium lager brand and the World Festival artists on the Edinburgh Festival Cavalcade on August 10 and there will be frequent tours through the Festival sites of Edinburgh during the festival.
Sagres will also take centre stage at one of the biggest Fringe hubs; the Pleasance, home to over 14 theatre spaces showing 100 shows including music, theatre and the Comedy Festival. Sagres will be served at the Pleasance Cabaret bar, which will also feature high impact branded POS material.
Sagres is available exclusively through S&N UK in 330 ml bottles and 30 litre kegs and a striking new fount for the brand was introduced to bar counters earlier this month. Commanding a 50% share of the beer market in Portugal, the brand has already secured significant listings since its launch in the UK in May with M&B’s leading bar chain All Bar One and Premium Country Dining Group restaurants.
