Magners in Over 1000 Venues

Just six weeks after the launch of Magners draught across the O’Neill’s estate, distribution has already been achieved in more than 1,000 outlets, with excellent feedback from customers and a strong sales performance.
Martin Wolstencroft, Managing Director of Arc Inspiration Group LLP was one of the first to start offering Magners draught to his customers:
“Since installation a few weeks ago, we’ve sold over 2,500 pints, selling more than 600 in the first weekend. The Magners font looks great on the bar and consumers are keen to try a pint. As a premium cider, Magners draught is a great addition to our draught offering and is already helping grow our cider category. Its looking like it will be the biggest launch this Summer in the on-trade.”
As the Summer really gets underway, we can expect to see Draught Magners Original Irish Cider becoming increasing visible in pubs across Great Britain. A new Magners draught TV advert goes on air week commencing 21 July supported by a heavyweight promotional campaign comprising national sampling activity and on-going bar staff training programmes.
David Wigham, Portfolio Activation Director for Coors said:
“We’ve all seen how the arrival of Magners pint bottle has re-ignited the cider category and we believe that the time is right for Magners Original Irish Cider to be made available on draught.
"This draught format served extra cold already looks to be extending the appeal of cider – bringing in new consumers and broadening the occasions on which draught premium cider is the drink of choice.
"It is critical that suppliers constantly innovate to meet the ever evolving and increasingly complex needs of consumers to ensure a bright future for the UK on trade. We continue to invest heavily in both developing our existing brands and also launching new products such as Coors Light and Grolsch Blond, both of which look to be connecting well with consumers looking for premium products with strong heritage and unique product differentiators ”.
In addition to demand for Magners draught from customers and consumers, packaged Magners sales have continued to do very well, confirming that there are two differentiated drinking occasions - packaged over ice and draught extra cold.
David concluded:
“We've taken steps to ensure we have plenty of fonts, glasses, point of sale support and of course Magners cider, to meet what we expect to be increased demand over the next few months”
