Kshama Alur is Brand Manager for Inbev’s Artois products - which now includes the speciality brands Peeerman Artois and Artois Bock as well as the market leading premium lager Stella Artois.
I got into my job… while working for a global youth organisation that facilitates international internships. I started off as an Assistant Brand manager within InBev, and moved on from there...
If I met myself 10 years ago, I’d tell myself... Don’t spend time studying for the law entrance exam – you’re going to be in marketing anyway!
My job involves... a wide spectrum of activities involving the launch of new products as well as maintaining our flagship product in market. It’s constantly changing according to the needs and requirements of that time.
I love this business because... It's dynamic, innovative and has tremendous pace.
The biggest challenge I face is... being too loyal to our brands to be objective to the others!
The biggest opportunity is... that fact that there is enough space in this industry for so many new ideas and different ways of doing things.
If I was in charge of the industry I’d... Find ways of increasing consumer education about our category and products.
The way to a consumer’s heart is... “through the stomach” as they say or in our case - throat! But it’s about understanding their needs and striving to satisfy them by what you offer.
The best place to drink in Britain... Apart from my back garden... most parts of Central London. It has a wonderful vibe throughout the year.
Draught or bottle? Depends on the situation...
Desert Island Drink? Pina Colada draught with crushed ice!
Kebab? Shwarma Kebab on High Street Ken.
On the town? A perfectly poured pint of Stella Artois
Not if it were the last drink in the world? There are too many out there to name !
